In India, agriculture is a weather dependent activity and all farm management decisions such as selection of crop variety date of sowing, choice, method, quantity and type of farm inputs (fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, irrigation), inter-cultural operations, harvesting and post harvesting practices are weather sensitive.
The main objective of this application is to provide a Web GIS based location specific dynamic weather information and forecasting. The application fetches the location specific information from important sources such as Fallingrain genomics and IMD.
The application also incorporates NDVI images from 250-meter MODIS/NDVI Time Series Database from the Global Agriculture Monitoring (GLAM) Project.
