Project Outcome
The project will result in a comprehensive, sustainable online knowledge services organization which is a model for the agricultural sector for India and the developing world. This would become a component of the national agricultural information portal that the NAIP is building.
Adequate capacity would be built among large numbers of agricultural experts in the further design and management of the content organization and delivery and exchange services. The capacity of agricultural scientists and extension personnel and subject-matter specialists in KVK’s on this project would have been significantly enhanced in using and in contributing to the online as well as offline knowledge and information services. In a span of three years after the capacity development processes are launched, it would be possible to record income increases among the served farmers and there would be less vulnerability to extreme climate events. A new approach to aggregating information in the public domain for improved income of the farmers would have been demonstrated.
A process for systematic and comprehensive integration of digital technologies in agricultural research and extension, and its maintenance over the long term would have been established, involving stakeholders from the NARES, ICT resource institutions and the ICT public and private sector.
